Spring! Sproing!

Yay! There is sun and glorious weather outside. And I am inside on the computer. I am a silly person. However, I have finished prepping for the final performance of this pregnancy (if I have anything to say about it!), gathered costume bits, hair, makeup, etc. into one pile, and have checked all email accounts to be sure there are no final, "Oh, BTW, we need all kinds of stuff for the show tonight" moments, and now I am GOING OUTSIDE!

Is it spring yet?

Ugh-- I've been sick on and off since taking a weekend off to visit CA and relax. Great. Now, when I should be prepping for Gothla, packing, rehearsing choreo, and getting excited, I'm in bed coughing up a lung and trying not to have a headache. So I may not even make it to Pomona this weekend. Phooey.

At least I have an alien in my stomach, which makes me laugh. I thought it would be creepy and gross, but it's just really, really funny.

So happy about this:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/jan/06/religion-atheism

I can but hope that the UK buses will not be firebombed, as they most definitely would be in the US with messages like, "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."

(I mean, what about the CHILDREN? They might start asking QUESTIONS!)

Just the fact they they've managed to get this campaign going is a miracle of free speech.

It's effin' cold around here. Just sayin'. (Warning to NYC-visiting folks-- bring WARM clothes!)

A lovely Thanksgiving involving a fun visit to artnouveauho and seeing speedlime there as well-- whee! And getting back to the US in time for only ONE Thanksgiving dinner-- the first time in many, many years that I've had the pleasure. (We've had up to 3.)

Cranking out the salons each month is good for me, really. I'm learning who's good to work with, i.e., reliable and organized, and therefore who will be good to invite for potential future projects.

The troupe has expanded by one-- we're a trio now, and are working on a midsummer bash. Someone else will be taking point, though (relief!), because I'll probably be slightly busy
this summer. (Not sure why? Private message/email me!)

Easily distracted sheep needs to go edit video now. Check voodoosisters.com for the results.

I am very, very excited about this.

It helps with the "dear gods, I am feeling so BORING!" moments.

Because now I have blue hair.

And that's about all I'm posting, having spent way too much of today either asleep or online on Tribe. Though I promise to arise more often. Great to see y'all over Christmas. We must do this more often.

Heh-- not only is the Sheep close to done with teaching hours-- next week they're done!-- but I just got into an experimental dance troupe, called Chovexani (pronounced "Shuvani." Obscure Romani spelling, apparently.) Website: http://www.chovexani.com/home.htm. Beware-- contains music.

So now I get an excuse to dance, work on costuming etc., and rock out with fellow weirdoes. "Unpredictable" dances. I like the idea.

Speaking of unpredictable, this guy (http://www.gulkarov.com/index.htm, again, beware soundtrack) is my new hero. And not just because he can knot his own arms behind his head. I got to take a workshop with him last week. Well, well worth it.

Time to sleep!

Trugoy needed a haircut

Yes, Sheep got shorn-- not too short, but 4 inches of rattiness off the ends. I realized it had been way too long-- around 7 years!-- since I'd gotten a haircut. Sheesh.

IN another 3 weeks, I should be done with my supervised teaching hours-- all 80 of them! Woohoo! Then I can start having a real life again.

What do I mean? This has been my schedule today:

6 AM: Drag sorry ass out of bed. Channel Bangles song, even though it's Wednesday.
7:30: First client of the day
8:30: Physical therapy exercises for shoulder, drill some dance moves
9:30: Client 2
10:30: Clean up Reformer, pack up geat, fire self downtown as fast as possible
11 AM: First session at Kane School
2 PM: Finish sessions, take self-practice hour
3-5 Palpation study group, counts towards self-practice (85 total, whee!)
5 PM: head home, grab boy, get food
6:30: scramble to stand in line for Bellyqueen show
8:30: get out of show, scuttle home to make 9 PM phone meeting
9 PM: Find out phone meeting was moved to next week last minute.

Hey, at least I get to post!

Sorry for the rarity of updates, my dears.

P.S.: For anyone who cares, I've just dated myself pretty seriously with the 2 music references here. Heh.

Well, it's official-- I'm dancing at Rakkasah's Spring Caravan first weekend in May. My first official Tribal-style performance.

Now I just have to choreograph, get cards printed up, work on costuming, etc....

like my heart!

Yeah, ok, so it's actually quite bright and sunny today in NYC, but it is still fuck-off cold. I'm wearing 1/4 inch-thick longjohns and they are lifesavers. So I'm in a pretty good mood. Must be this journalling thing that's getting to me.

I am SO ready for summer.

Only 50 more observed teaching hours, 56 more self- practice hours, 23 more observing hours, 15 more assisting hours, 30 more apprenticeship hours, and two more weekends of class to go before I'm done with this damned certification. Feh.

Steak and eggs. If artnouveauho is the queen of mushy comfort food, I rule the frying pan.

Yes, I celebrate Valentine's Day with cholesterol. Yum.
